Atlanta Engagement Photographer | Midtown Engagement Session

This midtown engagement session was special because it has been a long time coming for this couple! To hear their amazing love story was truly unforgettable !!

As an Atlanta Engagement Photographer being able to photograph couples from all walks of life for their engagement session is a privilege and honor.

Meet Altrichia Cook, a Florida-based Fashion Designer / CEO  of Allusions by A.Lekay Swimwear and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, and Anthony Wilcox Sr, a Senior Claims AdjusterGEICO Insurance and Athletic Director Fire Youth Sports Inc.

Altrichia’s swimwear line has been featured in various publications including Essence Magazine, People Magazine, and a guest at the White House Inaugural United States of Women Summit hosted by Former President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

How they meet:

They met in 2002 at an AMC theater in Lakeland, FL.  They had no idea that would be the beginning of a tender love story between the two of them.  At the time they were sophomores in high school.

So it wasn’t until 2003 that they officially began dating. Altrichia and Anthony dated for their junior and senior years and they both went off to college.

Anthony was in California in college, eventually transferring to the University of Arizona, and Altrichia was in Tallahassee, FL. They eventually broke up 5 years after graduating college but they finally reconnected and rekindled their flame.

Midtown-engagement-photos-atlanta-wedding-photographerJust moments after 2017 rang in, Anthony abruptly told Altrichia that he felt sick. When they went outside close friends and family had set up the inside of their home for his surprise proposal.

The surprise

The hallway was adorned with rose petals and each hallway was lined with 6 vases, a rose in each vase. At the end of the hallway, their son, Anthony Jr., held the 13th vase with one-dozen roses. The vases and roses represented the years they have known each other.

As they walked back inside, Altrichia screamed with utter delight and shock as she knew that this was the moment. After a few minutes of shock and exclaiming, Anthony asked her to spend forever together.

Their midtown engagement session was breathtaking.  This Midtown engagement session took place at one of Atlanta’s newest venues Upstairs Atlanta.   The room at Upstairs Atlanta was decorated by Atlanta Event Planner Brittany (B. Simms) of Eternity Events by B Simms and her wonderful assistant Tiffany.

Also, the table,  filled with beautiful red roses and fine China by The Prissy Plate Company added an even more special element of love.

The team had many surprises including entertainment by DJ Twice Entertainment and a special dance floor with rose petals that adorned the dance floor, like the moment of their surprise proposal. They danced to their favorite songs. It was beyond what the couple could have ever imagined.
